Entrance Song

LORD I NEED YOU

Lord, I come, I confess,

Bowing here, I find my rest

Without you I fall apart,

You’re the one

That guides my heart

Lord, I need you, oh I need you

Every hour I need you

My one defense, my righteousness,

Oh God, how I need you

(bis)

In the name of the Father, and of theSon, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

and the love of God,

and the communion of the Holy Spirit

be with you all.

And with your spirit.

Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledge our sins,

and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Pardon

PERDOA SENHOR (O NOSSO DIA)

Forgive us, Lord, for our day,

the absence of courageous gestures,

the weakness of consented acts,

the life of moments poorly loved.

Forgive the space we did not give You;

forgive because we did not free ourselves;

forgive the chains we placed,

in You, Lord, because we did not dare.

However, make us feel!

To forgive is to forget the old war

and, departing, begin anew,

like the sun that always kisses the earth.

May almighty God have mercy onus,

forgive us our sins,

and bring us to everlasting life.

Amen.

GLORIA

Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace to people of goodwill.

We praise you,

we bless you,

we adore you,

we glorify you,

we give you thanks for your great glory,

Lord God, heavenly King,

O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, only BegottenSon,

Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of theFather,

you take away the sins of the world,

have mercy on us;

you take away the sins of the world,

receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father,

have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,

you alone are the Lord,

you alone are the Most High,

Jesus Christ,

with the Holy Spirit,

in the glory of God the Father.

Amen.

COLLECT

Let us pray.

Let the voice of your Church rise up to you, O eternal God. Cleanse her with your grace from every stain of sin, open her heart to your love and give her firm assurance of your protection. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord and our God, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever.

Amen.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING

A reading from the Book of Numbers (Nm 114-7, 16a, 18-20, 31-32a)

Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving; and the people of Israel also wept again, and said, ‘O that we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onion and the garlic; but now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.’ Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like that of gum resin. And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the people, “Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, ‘Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.’ Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat. You shall not eat one day, or two days, or five days, or ten days or twenty days, but a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have rejected the Lord who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, ‘Why did we come forth out of Egypt?’”’ And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and it brought quails from the sea, and let them fall beside the camp, about a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the face of the earth. And the people rose all that day, and all night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails.

The Word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

PSALM

Psalm 104 (105)

R. The Lord remembers his covenant forever.

He the LORD, is our God

whose judgments are in all the earth.

He is mindful of his covenant forever,

of the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,

the covenant which he made with Abraham

his sworn promise to Isaac. R.

He led forth Israel with silver and gold;

and there was no one among his tribes who stumbled.

Egypt was glad when they departed,

for dread of them had fallen upon it.

He spread a cloud for a covering,

and fire to give light by night. R.

They asked, and he brought quails;

and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.

He opened the rock and water gushed forth;

it flowed through the desert like a river.

For he remembered his holy promise

and Abraham his servant. R.

EPISTLE

A reading from the First Letter of St Paul to the Corinthians (1Cor 10:1-11b)

I want you to know, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptised into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same supernatural food and all drank the same supernatural drink. For they drank from the supernatural Rock which followed them, and the Rock was Christ. Nevertheless with most of them God was not pleased; for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did. Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, ‘The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to dance.’ We must not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell in a single day. We must not put the Lord to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents; nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. Now these things happened to them as a warning, but they were written down for our instruction.

The Word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL

The Lord be with you

And with your spirit.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St Matthew (14:13b-21)

Glory to you, O Lord.

Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a lonely place apart. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. As he went ashore he saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.’ Jesus said, ‘They need not go away; you give them something to eat.’ They said to him, ‘We have only five loaves here and two fish.’ And he said, ‘Bring them here to me.’ Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

AFTER THE GOSPEL

Lord, walk amongst us,

forgive us our sins

and make of us your people.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Dear brothers and sisters, filled with paschal joy,

let us pray earnestly to God that he, who graciously listened

to the prayers and supplications of his beloved Son,

may now be pleased to look upon us in our lowliness.

Lord, in your mercy

Hear our prayer

CONCLUSION OF THE LITURGY OF THE WORD

O God almighty, look with mercy on our weakness. Stretch out the mighty hand of your compassion over us, that we may be guarded against every danger. Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,

for through your goodness we have received

the bread we offer you:

fruit of the earth and work of human hands,

it will become for us the bread of life.

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,

for through your goodness we have received

this wine we offer you:

fruit of the vine and work of human hands,

it will become our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.

PROFESSION OF FAITH

I believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,

of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only begotten Son of God,

born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation

he came down from heaven,

and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried,

and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the dead

and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified.

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

O Father, grant that this offering may purify us from our sins; and may the sacrifice we are about to celebrate magnify you and sanctify the hearts of your obedient children. Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

PREFACE

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right and just.

It is truly right and just,

our duty and our salvation,

always and everywhere to give you thanks, O Lord,

Holy Father, almighty and ever-living God.

It is truly just to bless you forever and always,

since from you comes every lifegiving breath,

through you we are given the capacity for action,

on you depends our entire existence.

No moment exists but that is given

as proof of your love.

May our awareness of past joys and current blessings

be made ever clearer,

ever more alive,

in these days

as we meditate on the recent celebration

of the Lord Jesus’ coming among us

and all the wonders of our redemption.

Renewed in the spirit of praise and united to the choirs of heaven and earth, we proclaim:

Sanctus

SANTO (JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR)

Chorus

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord.

Holy is the Lord of the Universe.

The heavens and the earth proclaim

Your glory forever:

Hosanna in the highest.

Chorus

Blessed is the One who comes

in the name of the Lord:

Hosanna in the highest. (repeat)

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,

The fount of all holiness.

Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,

by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,

so that they may become for us

the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed

And entered willingly into his Passion,

he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it,

and gave it to his disciples, saying:

Take this, all of you, and eat of it,

For this is my Body,

Which will be given up for you.

In a similar way, when supper was ended,

he took the chalice

and, once more giving thanks,

he gave it to his disciples, saying:

Take this, all of you, and drink from it,

for this is the chalice of my Blood,

the Blood of the new and eternal covenant,

Which will be poured out for you and for many

for the forgiveness of sins.

Do this in memory of me.

The mystery of faith.

We proclaim your Death, O Lord,

and profess your Resurrection

until you come again.

Therefore, as we celebrate

the memorial of his Death and Resurrection,

we offer you, Lord,

the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation,

giving thanks that you have held us worthy

to be in your presence and minister to you.

Humbly we pray

that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,

we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your Church,

spread throughout the world,

and bring her to the fullness of charity,

together with Francis our Pope

and Mario our Bishop,

and all the clergy.

Remember also our brothers and sisters

who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,

and all who have died in your mercy:

welcome them into the light of your face.

Have mercy on us all, we pray,

that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,

with blessed Joseph, her Spouse

with the blessed Apostles,

and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,

we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life,

and may praise and glorify you

through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through him, and with him, and in him,

O God, almighty Father,

In the unity of the Holy Spirit,

all glory and honour is yours,

Forever and ever

Amen.

THE COMMUNION RITE

BREAKING OF THE BREAD

Let your face shine on your servant;

save me in your unfailing love.

May I not be put to shame, Lord,

for I have called on you.

At the Saviour’s command

and formed by divine teaching,

we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil,

graciously grant peace in our days,

that, by the help of your mercy,

we may be always free from sin

and safe from all distress,

as we await the blessed hope

and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

For the kingdom,

the power and the glory are yours

now and for ever.

Lord Jesus Christ,

who said to your Apostles:

Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,

look not on our sins,

but on the faith of Your Church,

and graciously grant her peace and unity

in accordance with your will.

Who live and reign for ever and ever.

Amen.

The peace and communion of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

And with your spirit.

Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takes away the sins of the world.

Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.

Lord, I am not worthy

that you should enter under my roof,

but only say the word

and my soul shall be healed.

Communion

GRÃO DE TRIGO

It was for You that one day I went beyond the shore.

In You, I discovered a sea I did not know existed.

"Go into the deep, trust in Me,"

You said, and the entire beach stopped:

"cast the nets, trust in Me."

You passed by and whispered to me: "Come!"

Chorus

Where would I go without You, Lord,

If You speak and I hear the sea.

I will go with You wherever You go,

Wherever the wind blows

Until the day the sea takes me away.

Here is the friend in whom You entrusted,

And one day denied You out of fear or betrayal, I don't know.

But You looked, and the sea became calm,

In Your forgiveness, I found again

on another shore, a new day dawning.

You passed by and whispered to me: "Come!"

Chorus

Thanksgiving

MÁS ALLA

Beyond my fears, beyond

My insecurity, I want to give You an answer.

Here I am to do Your will

So that my love can say yes to You until the end. (repeat)

AFTER HOLY COMMUNION

Let us pray.

O God, who nourish and renew us with these sublime mysteries of grace, render your faithful people able to live out the efficacy of their divine richness in our lives. Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The Lord be with you.

And with your spirit.

Kyrie, eleison. Kyrie, eleison. Kyrie, eleison.

May almighty God bless you,

the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Go in peace.

In the name of Christ.
